A Lesson from the Virus

The corona virus rages on at the time of this writing but there are lessons we can learn from it. One lesson learned is just to be yourself.

How do we learn that from the corona virus? Yes, being yourself is a good thing but sometimes it is actually hard to do. Just think about your life before corona. It was all segmented into various little pockets of time. Your early morning was spent getting ready for work and doing your morning routine. That is just one small segment of time but you had a certain mindset and a certain way of behaving during this time.

Next for most of us, it’s off to work. At work things are different than home and so you adjust your mind and behavior to fit in there. You do what’s needed to get your work done but maybe you don’t act the same way you do at home.

Home in the evening is another block of time. This is usually when the real you comes out. You can relax and just be you. You can do what you want, when you want. It’s time for you to become you again.

No matter all the different faces we wear every day, you should always be you. This is one lesson corona has taught us. With so much time at home, you don’t need to change who you are or how you behave. We should not ever have to change who we are. Not for a job or for anything.

Jesus was just Himself while He was here on earth. It did not matter the time of day or what He was doing. And with the help of God in your life, you don’t have to change for any reason either. Just be you. With God in your heart, He will change you from the inside out. And then, whatever the situation, you (and God) will be there to handle it.
