It was a perfect evening. The sun had set and the cool, fall air was taking over the night. A group of friends were visiting around the fire pit. The warmth came from two distinctly different  things. The first and most obvious was the fire. It was sending out its warmth to all who were near. The second was the warmth of the hearts of those around the firepit. These people were family in Christ as well as friends.

Everyone had their unique story to tell. It was their story of how they came to be part of the family of God. No matter the route they took to join the family, each one was ready and willing to serve God.

Each heart was in tune with God and in tune with every other heart at that gathering. This is God’s way.

The fire shone during the night dispelling the darkness. And that is God’s way as well. Whereever He goes the darkness flees. And as each person catches His fire, they want to spread His love and care far and wide. It is hard to keep fire contained once it starts going and so it is with God’s love. Years ago the old song rings out, ” It only takes a spark, to get a fire going….”

Catch God’s  fire and help spread His message to the world. Take it everywhere far and wide. It is the one fire that cannot be put out. Draw near to God and His warmth and then go share it today!
