Ok, I know it sounds strange, 1.5. And just a little detour from the rest of the story. What happened today is just something I need to share. So here goes.
Outside of food and water and all that, what’s one thing we all need? Someone got it right. A friend. We all need friends. We all need help at one time or another. And that’s what happened to me. In my role as caretaker for my mom, there are things that need to be done every day for her. Lunch needs made, just keeping her safe, and so on. More about all that in part 2. There is one thing that almost never happens to me. I rarely get sick. What happened today? Yes, I got sick. What started out as maybe the flu with all the fun that goes with it ended up being a kidney stone. I had no idea a kidney stone would do all that. And even before any kidney pain showed up.
Now what to do with mom? A new friend of mine came to the rescue. You know the kind. The one who will do anything for you just because you’re friends. She came over and really saved the day. Even went above and beyond. Not thinking very clearly about the pain, I waited till afternoon to head to Urgent Care where the diagnosis was confirmed. I got to Urgent Care and back because of my friend. And she even cooked supper and picked up my pills at the pharmacy. We all need friends and especially ones that are there for you no matter what.
We all have a Friend like that. Some days we think He doesn’t care. He sees how it all plays out. We can only see the moment. But Jesus will always be there and will always help you no matter what.
Now it’s time for me to get some sleep. I’ll let you know if there’s any more to this rather painful story of mine. See you next week.
