The Reason for Every Season

I was thinking that I should write something about Christmas for my blog but then things took a different turn. Let’s see where my thoughts will take us.

You all know the phrase, “Jesus is the reason for the season.” This is where my wandering mind started. And Jesus should be our reason for this season. He should be our reason for every season.

Do you say you believe in Jesus? I am sure most of us would say, “Yes.” But does that belief lead to a change in the way we are? Is it our philosophy of life? Jesus should be our reason for everything we do. Sometimes we forget that. I know I have.

God works in many ways. Some big and some small. At school there is a problem with a leaky roof. Just in 2 or 3 places. After a few months though, it’s still not repaired. Then I heard my sister’s prayer a few nights ago. She prayed for God to fix the school roof. And He can do it. I had my mind fixed on earthly things. Too many issues to think about and too many things to remember. All good things. But they crowded out the most important thing. It’s not that I didn’t have the faith; I had just pushed it to the back of my mind.

And so it goes with all of us. Good things we are doing but we forget the real reason. We forget and Jesus gets pushed to the back. With faith and prayer, let’s keep Him with us always and remember Jesus is the real reason for every season. Merry Christmas!
