Passover 5781

By Lisa Marie

As we get closer to Easter Sunday, i want to celebrate the cross moreso than normal. Today is the first day of Passover for the Jewish people. Biblical Year 5781! Gregorian year 2021.

L’Shana Habba BeYerushalaim Next year in Jerusalem

Passover does not seem to coincide with the Resurrection of Jesus but it is very significant to the Jewish people! Exodus 12 is the account of when the Lord smited Egypt for holding the Isrealites as slaves. Because Pharoah would not let God’s people go, God killed the first born in every household in Egypt. He instructed the Israelites to put lambs blood on their doorposts to be protected And to be Passed Over from death in their household. Hence we get Passover.

AND Exodus 12:51 states that the Israelites were finally freed!

Exodus 12:51 And it came to pass that selfsame day, that the Lord did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies!

my friend Asher from Israel posted this today!

As i write it seems gory and bloody, and i suppose it is. The Old Testament to me is scandalous! God before He sent His son Jesus to die for our sins! #Yeshua… At the same time verse 51 of Exodus 12 shows a cause for celebration! Like their day of Freedom! The 4th of July for Jewish people, so it seems! 🇮🇱 🇺🇸

I celebrated the Passover Feast called “Sedar”tonight with my girlfriends, via Zoom.

It is interesting to me that celebrating the passover and/or taking part of this Jewish ritual; that many of the declarations of prayer is for healing and protection. That is the main reason i wanted to take part in the Passover celebration. The 9 blessings of Passover are as follows:

One thing i especially enjoyed was the 4 cups for passover! The cup of Sanctification (I will bring you out). The cup of Plagues (I will rescue you). The cup of Redemption (I will redeem you) The cup of Praise (I will take you as my people)! After praying many blessings or protections, redemptions or songs of praise; we drank in Communion from each cup!

grape juices, blackberry wine, and rose’ in a can! lol

I am in quarantine until April 10. The reason is, i will be taking care of my grandson Anderson who has pontocerebellum, for 2 days on April 7. This terminal disease leaves him at high risk for any respiratory virus, including the common cold.

My friend’s son Billy has cancer. And he will not be doing any more chemo treatments….

My girlfriend Corie has a teenage son going to College this year with Deuschanes Muscular Dystrophy.

Tonight i was declaring miracles to happen. I was claiming healing! I was praying for protection for our loved ones. That includes you too…if you are reading this, my prayers are for you and yours as well…

But the thing is, now that i have partaken in this Old Jewish custom; i think…isn’t that WHY Jesus died for our sins!? So that we do not have to partake in these symbolic customs. The blood of the lamb who takes away the sins of the world. There is healing power in the blood of Jesus. He paid the price, so we did not have to. It is a thought provoker. But then again, desperate times provoke desperate measures. And we are desperate for healings for our sons and grandson. Remember the woman with the issue of blood in Luke 8, Matthew 9, and Mark 5. She thought, if she could just touch the hem of Jesus’s garment she would be healed. In desperation she touched His hem, And she was healed!!

I felt the power of the Holy Spirit tonight, so i am believing God moved on our behalf….And i enjoyed the time spent. It felt meaningful and honorable. I believe God will honor the time spent partaking in a custom for His Promised people! So i guess either way is fine…There are bigger battles to debate…This falls in the category of which top shall i wear? But also, it sure does not hurt to have an evening with God, celebrating Freedom with The people of Israel! And ending the evening with worshipping God.

Hosanna in the Highest!

As i close this evening, I welcome your thoughts, including debatable thoughts…Please include your prayers of healing and protection to my list. You can leave requests in the comments or take it straight to God! And do not forget, tomorrow is Palm Sunday! 🌴

And thank you Will for sharing this platform with me to write my thoughts to my hearts content…. ❤
