Hi Spring! Glad you are here!
The first day of spring, brings new beginnings! The birds are singing! The flowers are blooming! The harbor seals are harboring! And the wind is enchanting! Who knows what is on the horizon, but it seems to be bubbling with hope!
Ecclesiastes 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under Heaven:
Ecc 3:4-5 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance. A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing.
And today, i choose embracing life, and gathering stones or aka shells! I am in a season of dancing, spontaneity, and contentment!
Will and i met at Cannery Row today in Monterey, for a late lunch at Bubba Gump’s; i just LOVE Bubba Gump’s….you do not have to wine and dine me, just take me to Bubba Gump’s! Lol! ….We bought matching pilsner glasses. Then went to some souvenir stores and purchased non matching Monterey sweatshirts!
then we walked to Pacific Grove and looked at the harbor seals. After that, we drove to Asilomar to watch the sunset. Please note: these towns are walking or biking distance from each other… And it was a really great day!
By the Way, You know, John Steinbeck wrote many of his novels in Monterey County, Pacific Grove to be exact. He wrote a book called “Cannery Row” the setting in Monterey, Cannery Row; even tho not my favorite; i feel connected to him somehow when i visit Cannery Row! Which is actually quite often. Pacific Grove is probably my favorite place in the world! i have visited Greece (the beach in Rhodes), Italy (the Amalfi Coast), Israel (the Dead Sea, Tel Aviv), Jamaica, Bahamas (C’mon Pretty Mama) Hawaii (Oahu, Maui, Kauai), and the list goes on!! But Pacific Grove in my own back yard has my heart! #truth #pitterpat
Fun Fact: John Steinbeck attended Stanford University with no intention of graduating AND was successful with his pursuit! As in he did not graduate!
To be honest, i do not have a point today and truth be told, it is almost tomorrow! But i am going to keep on going! Maybe today, i do not need to talk. Maybe it is more about what i saw! Or experienced.
The wind was MAGNIFICENT today! Like the wind in Patmos, where John whom Jesus loved (not Steinbeck) wrote the Book of Revelation.(I visited Patmos once and the wind was the strongest i ever felt- and Holy Spirit flowing) Or you know, if you have ever been on a cruise…And you take a walk on the deck at night while the ship is TOTALLY at sea…It is WINDY!
And By George, it is tomorrow! The second day of Spring! I betcha Will is fast asleep in Hollister! (he was not) And here i am still trying to figure out my point!
“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.” ~Forest Gump
Maybe that is the point. We make decisions for ourselves every day. But since we cannot control the decisions of others, we do not know what we are going to get! And their decisions affect us! Sometimes good and sometimes bad. Last week, Will and i did not watch the sunset together. That was not my choice and it was NOT the sprinkles in a box of chocolate!
However, this week, we did watch the sunset. The new season of Spring brought new beginnings. It is Our 8 week Anniversary of friendship/relationship. 8 is the Biblical Number for New Beginnings. And every day is a New day with God! Every mistake is erased when we ask for forgiveness from God! Not quite as easy to forgive and move forward with human relationships but we must forgive each other of ALL offenses! Jesus said we must forgive each other 70 times 7! Matthew 18: 21-22
And with forgiveness comes New Beginnings!
I like what Will is saying in his blog about The Rocks…and i add, that if we stand on the rock, Jesus is the rock. (Not Dwayne Johnson, the Rock) it is easier to forgive ❤
